ERIC CRAMBES

A committed and versatile artist, Eric Crambes is involved in a large range of musical activities.

 

A tireless traveller and instigator of performances in the most unlikely of places, Éric Crambes works both as a solo artist and with orchestras in France, America and throughout Europe and Asia.

 

Pleased to have the opportunity to broaden the range of his musical experience, he holds regularly the position of concertmaster with a range of different orchestras and today he is concertmaster with the Seville Royal Orchestra.

 

Chamber Music is something which is very important to him and the festivals and concerts to which he is invited allow him to share his passion with other artists from all around the world. He also involves himself in the production and recording of many contemporary works with the Ensemble 2e2m of which he has been a member since 1999. Eric Crambes also has the privilege of regularly sharing the stage with principal dancers of the New York City Ballet in performances linking music with dance, in both America as well as Europe.

 

He is Artistic Director of both the festival at Aubenas Vals-les-Bains (France) “Opus” which he created in 2002, and since 2005 the Festival des Arcs. In September 2006 Eric Crambes was appointed to teach at the Liceo Superior Conservatory of Music, Barcelona.

 

A winner of the New York ‘International Artists’ competition, Eric Crambes started learning the violin with the Suzuki method. He continued his musical studies in London at the Yehudi Menuhin School, with Tibor Varga in Switzerland, then at the Juilliard School in New York where he lods a Master Degree studying the violin with Dorothy Delay. At the same time he achieved a 3rd cycle in both chamber music and violin from the National Superior Conservatory in Lyon.
