Both composer and visual artist, Zad Moultaka, a Franco-Lebanese composer born in 1967, boasting a double culture, Middle Eastern and Western, rediscovers the archaic power, first of the pre-Islamic languages. It is through mystery, the intimate or even obliteration that he is building an oeuvre that, owing to a desire of confronting and thwarting violence, is turning out to be a tool for ‘telling’ his era.
