BERNARD BLOCH

 

Founder of Théâtre de la Reprise, Théâtre de l'Attroupement and Scarface Ensemble, Bernard Bloch created Le Réseau (théâtre) in 1996. His company is established in Montreuil and can use an intermediary production, research and performance space which they share with Le Cartel and (CAP)* company.

An actor since 1971, he has performed under the direction of Jean-Pierre Vincent, Jean Jourdheuil, Bernard Sobel, Robert Gironès, Jacques Lassalle, Jean-Paul Wenzel, Jean-Luc Lagarce, Agnès Bourgeois, Elizabeth Marie, Philippe Lanton, Matthias Langhoff, Arnaud Meunier, Denis Guénoun, Philippe Mentha, Vincent Goethals...

For the cinema and television, he has worked with Ken Loach, Yves Boisset, Jeanne Labrune, Richard Dindo, Philippe Garrel, Jacques Audiard, Michel Piccoli, John Frankenheimer, Romain Goupil, Antoine de Caunes…

As a director he has staged 19 plays since 1978. In particular: Faust, Antoine et Cléopâtre, Vaterland with J. P. Wenzel, Tue la mort et Dehors/Dedans (Tom Murphy), Gouttes d'eau sur pierres brûlantes (Fassbinder), Moi, quelqu'un (I. Rèbre), Les Paravents (Jean Genet), L'Ouest Solitaire (Martin McDonagh), Lehaïm-à la vie (Herlinde Koelbl), Hypothèse Mozart (Frédéric Sounac). He premiered Le ciel est vide (Alain Foix) in October 2008 in Montreuil.

 

As a writer, adapter and translator, he has written or translated 11 performance texts, among which Le prince et le marchand adapted from Dostoevski's Idiot, Vaterland withJ.P.Wenzel (1983 national critique prize for best new play in French), Tue la mort et Dehors / Dedans adapted from Tom Murphy, R.W.Fassbinder's Gouttes d'eau sur pierres brûlantes, Martin McDonagh's L'Ouest solitaire, Lehaïm-à la vie ! with B.Chartreux adapted from Herlinde Koelbl...
